Murphy
Meet Murphy, a 5-year-old Maltese/Terrier mix looking for a very special home.
Murphy’s story is a heartbreaking one. He was found in Bakersfield about a year ago, and from what we understand, he has spent most of that time living isolated in a backyard with very little human interaction. Because of this, Murphy is extremely fearful and unsure of the world around him. When picked up, his whole body stiffens — almost as if he turns to stone.
Murphy is not the kind of dog who will immediately jump into your lap or shower you with affection. He needs a calm, patient person who understands that trust may take a long time, and who is willing to love him simply for who he is. His ideal home would be quiet, predictable, and low-pressure — a place where he can finally feel safe.
What Murphy truly needs is someone with a kind heart who isn’t expecting the “perfect” dog, but instead wants to give a deserving soul a peaceful and compassionate life. Even if he never becomes cuddly or outgoing, he still deserves comfort, safety, and love.

Archie is a 7-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys! This silly boy is always up for a game of fetch and knows how to keep the smiles coming. Archie walks nicely on leash, gets along well with other dogs, and is crate trained. He is looking for a family who can give him the love, playtime, and companionship he deserves.

Denali

With her coyote-like appearance, lightning speed, and athletic build, Denali is made for movement and thrives in an active lifestyle.
She’s the perfect match for someone who loves long runs, challenging hikes, and outdoor exploration. Denali isn’t just energetic—she’s joyful about it. Every outing becomes an adventure, every moment a chance to play.
Beyond her athleticism, Denali is pure sunshine. She’s silly, goofy, and endlessly entertaining, always finding ways to make her people laugh. She forms deep bonds with those she loves and is incredibly loyal. When meeting new people, she can be a bit nervous at first—but give her a little time and reassurance, and her playful, affectionate side quickly takes over.

Hachi
Meet Hachi — a sweet 10-year-old Shiba Inu with plenty of love and life left to share. Hachi is a gentle, affectionate girl who absolutely loves booty scratches and being close to her people. She has spent her whole life going to doggy daycare, so she does wonderfully with other dogs and would likely enjoy having canine companions in her new home.
Sadly, Hachi’s elderly owners are no longer able to care for her, and she is now looking for a loving retirement home where she can relax, be adored, and enjoy her golden years.
Hachi is in good overall health for her age. She does have some age-related disc disease, which gives her an adorable wobbly “drunk walk,” but it doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She still has plenty of spirit, affection, and companionship to offer.

Soleil
Soleil is a 3-year-old mama who was found surviving in the Bakersfield orchards with her litter of puppies. With the help of another rescue, she raised her babies to safety, and one by one they all found loving homes. Sadly, after weeks of trying, mama Soleil was still waiting for hers. That’s when we were asked to take her in.
When Soleil first arrived, she was very scared and unsure of her new surroundings. We gave her the time and space she needed, and slowly she began to trust us—showing gentle affection as she realized she was finally safe.
Soleil is the kind of dog who needs a little extra time to feel secure in a new environment. She would do best with a patient adopter who can set up a quiet playpen or safe space for her to decompress and adjust during her first few weeks at home. Once she feels safe, Soleil’s sweet and gentle personality begins to shine through.
Chachki
Meet Chachki! This 3-year-old Frenchie-Pug mix is pure sunshine wrapped in a squishy little body. Chachki is the definition of happy-go-lucky—she loves people, loves life, and is always ready to make new friends.
When she first came into rescue, Chachki was heartbreakingly emaciated. Fast forward to today, and thanks to her incredible foster mom, she's thriving! Some might even say her foster mom did too good of a job... because Chachki now considers snacks a personality trait.
This sweet girl has never met a stranger, loves attention, and carries herself like the little queen she is. Whether she's trotting around on an adventure, soaking up cuddles, or giving you those irresistible "do you have a treat?" eyes, Chachki brings joy wherever she goes.
Now all that's missing is a forever family to call her own.

Susie
Susie is a 2-year-old Affenpinscher weighing in at a perfect 15 pounds. This adorable little girl is full of spunk and loves to play. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and let her fun, puppy-like personality shine.
Once she feels comfortable, Susie is affectionate, playful, and always ready for an adventure or a game. Her happy spirit and charming personality make her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend.
